AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 1555, CODIFIED AS ARTICLE I (NOISE REGULATION)o
CHAPTER 27 OF THE CITY CODE, AND ORDINANCE NO. 1977 AS CODIFIED
AT SECTION 27.24 OF THE CITY CODE, BY ADDING SECTION 27.24(d)
ENTITLED PENALTY REGARDING PANDEMONIAC VEHICLES
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 27.24 of the Santa Rosa City Code is
hereby amen -e to read and provide as follows:
Section 27.24. Pandemoniac Vehicles Prohibited from the City of
Santa Rosa.
Definition:
(a) Pandemoniac Motor Vehicle. A pandemoniac motor vehicle
shall be a motor vehicle of any appearance, performance or capabil-
ity, designed, constructed, or operated in such a manner as to
create audible noise related to tire friction by accelerating said
vehicle.
(b) Pandemoniac Motor Vehicles Prohibited. It shall be
unlawful for any person to operate a pan demoniac motor vehicle
on any street or in any other place within the City of Santa Rosa.
(c) This Ordinance shall not apply to an area expressly
designated by ordinance or resolution as a "raceway" or "dragstrip."
(d) Penalty. A first violation of this section shall consti-
tute an infraction with a maximum penalty of $25.00. Upon execu-
tion by the suspect of a written promise to appear, said suspect
may be released from custody. A second and subsequent violation
of this ordinance shall be a misdemeanor.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption and publication or as soon thereafter
as all precedents of law have been satisfied.
